Emberlin Academy / The Guilds

Different disciplines.

One creative ecosystem.

The heart of the Academy

The Guilds are the heart of Emberlin Academy.

They are specialised communities built around different forms of creative practice, knowledge and innovation.

Rather than placing every creative discipline into one programme, Emberlin Academy creates distinct spaces where people can develop specific skills while still collaborating across disciplines.

The three founding Guilds are Lumina, Veritas and Novus.

When the Guilds meet

Distinct, not isolated

The Guilds are distinct, but they are not isolated. A creative project can move through several Guilds.

  1. Research
  2. Story
  3. Performance
  4. Production
  5. Distribution

Veritas may develop the research.

Lumina may transform it into a story.

Novus may produce and distribute it.

This collaborative model reflects the way the creative industries actually work.

The Guild journey

Growing with members

Members can move through different stages as their skills develop:

  1. Discover
  2. Develop
  3. Create
  4. Lead

The Guilds are intended to grow with their members—not simply provide a workshop and send them home.

More than a class

A Guild is a community.

It is a place to practise.

A place to experiment.

A place to collaborate.

A place to receive feedback.

A place to make mistakes and learn from them.

And, ultimately, a place to create.
