Emberlin Foundation

Creating space for

Voices to grow.

Introduction

The Emberlin Foundation is the impact arm of Emberlin, creating programmes and initiatives that support children, young people, families and communities.

The Foundation grows from a simple belief:

People need spaces where they can be heard, supported, equipped and given room to become.

Where change happens

Our work focuses on areas where storytelling, creativity, education, conversation and community can contribute to meaningful change.

Heard. Supported. Equipped. Becoming.

What We Focus On

(01)

I Am

I Am is a space centred on identity, self-expression, confidence and healing.

It creates opportunities for people to explore who they are, what they have experienced and who they are becoming.

(02)

Youth Empowerment

Creating opportunities for young people to develop confidence, leadership, skills and creative expression.

The aim is not simply to speak for young people, but to create spaces where they can speak for themselves.

(03)

Creative Opportunity

Connecting young people with creative skills, mentorship, storytelling and opportunities to explore careers within the creative industries.

(04)

Digital Wellbeing

Creating conversations and initiatives around the realities young people experience online, including cyberbullying, digital identity, online behaviour and safer digital spaces.

(05)

Health & Wellbeing

Supporting conversations and initiatives around mental wellbeing, HIV/AIDS awareness, sexual and reproductive health, substance abuse and other issues affecting young people and communities.

(06)

Families & Generations

Creating opportunities for parents, children and different generations to have better conversations about growing up, relationships, expectations, identity and change.

Stories into action

More than entertainment

The Foundation is connected to Emberlin’s creative ecosystem, but it is not simply an extension of the entertainment side of the business.

The stories created through Emberlin Studios can open conversations.

Those conversations can inform programmes.

Publishing can create resources.

The Academy can provide skills.

Experiences can create spaces for connection.

And the Foundation can take appropriate ideas into communities through partnerships and programmes.

The story starts the conversation. The work continues beyond it.

Our approach

We believe meaningful work begins with listening.

Working with people

The Foundation will seek to work with communities, young people, practitioners, educators and relevant organisations to understand needs before designing programmes.

Our approach is built around:

  1. Listen
  2. Understand
  3. Create
  4. Connect
  5. Act
  6. Learn

Because sustainable impact is not created by arriving with all the answers. It is created by working with people.

Get involved.

Creating space for people to find their voice—and use it.
